Beyond What Is Seen came out of a season Kudzi didn't have language for while he was in it, a slow coming out of wilderness, a pull back toward faith he couldn't yet explain. In the painting, several weathered hands rise from below, reaching toward a woman's profile and a bloom lit against deep blue, each one caught mid-reach, none of them arrived yet.

Meaning & Inspiration

Beyond What Is Seen only makes sense looking back. What felt like restlessness at the time was the Holy Spirit already calling, long before Kudzi had a name for it. Matthew 7:7-8 says what he only understood afterward, that what is sought will be found and what knocks will be answered, even when the seeking doesn't yet know what it's seeking.
