The Lion & The Lamb came from a vision of Jesus revealing his own character, at once the lamb who came to serve and lay down his life, and the lion who reigns as king with full authority. In the painting, the lion leans toward the lamb rather than over it, and the lamb holds its ground rather than shrinking back, the same two natures Kudzi saw held together in one vision.

Meaning & Inspiration

The Lion & The Lamb points to seasons that shift between leading and being led. Revelation 5:5-6 pictures both natures in the same moment, the Lion of Judah who triumphed and the Lamb who was slain, standing at the very centre of the throne. Matthew 20:28 shows the lamb's posture, the Son of Man who came not to be served but to serve. Matthew 11:29 shows the same king inviting others to learn from him, because he is gentle and humble in heart.
