The Power of Words began in a dream, where words arrived one after another, each one already sitting somewhere in scripture though Kudzi wasn't searching for any of it. They stayed with him for weeks after he woke, until painting became the only way to put them down.

At the centre stands a rhino, carrying both Kudzi's African identity and the weight of what the piece declares. God's word moves the same way, formidable enough to push through anything in its path. Across the canvas, in his own handwriting, run declarations drawn directly from scripture: I am the head and not the tail (Deuteronomy 28:13), no weapon formed against me shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), among several more.
